Frequently Asked Questions

To secure your event's date with DaCapo ATL String Quartet, all it takes is a non-refundable holding fee. Holding fees may be paid through Venmo* or personal check. The non-refundable booking fee of $150 will hold the date for your event and provides for pre-event coordination and communication.  This non-refundable fee provides for up to five pre-event consultations as well as reserving the day and time on the musicians’ calendars.  Please fill out the "Contact Us" form on this Web page and Carla, our manager/violist, will reach out to you as soon as possible. 

*PLEASE NOTE: Venmo may be used for amounts under $500. For amounts over $500, please mail a personal check to our manager, Carla. Checks must be out to Carla Bosman. 

Standard wedding events include soft prelude music, generally 15 minutes before the wedding ceremony through a recessional piece as the bridal party exits. We are happy to also play music during the wedding ceremony. If the ceremony is longer than what is stated in the contract, additional fees may apply.

We specialize in string instruments: violin, viola, and cello. However, we also have connections in the industry to bring in other instruments if requested, such as guitar, bass, flute, trumpet, and vocals.

It is completely understandable if a wedding is running a little late. We are happy to continue playing with one additional piece of music after the original start time. This is generally the amount of time needed to get back on schedule. If we happen to have an additional event scheduled later that day, we cannot stay longer than the time agreed upon and written in our contract due to our obligation to other clients.

Yes, we can certainly play at the reception either immediately after an event as well as another location. If the reception is located at another venue, additional fees may apply. We also have Cocktail/Social Hour + Reception, as well. We are flexible to meet your needs.

Yes, the quartet manager is more than happy to attend rehearsals. Additional fees  may apply for the extra time and/or distance traveled.

A STRING QUARTET (2 violins, 1 viola, 1 cello) has a warm, rich sound that is loved & requested by many. A STRING TRIO (1 violin, 1 viola, 1 cello) has a light, more transparent sound, perfect for lighter occasions. The music repertoire for a quartet is generally more readily available than that of a trio, etc., so more music selections are available for quartets. 

Yes, specially requested music can include guitar accompaniment. Please speak with our manager/violist Carla for more information.

Yes, we would be more than happy to suggest music for your event. Many of our clients begin by reviewing our list of music on the "Music Selection" page on our website. We are happy to provide suggestions to help you create your ideal wedding or event and assemble music selections that complement your choice of music.

Yes, we have performed with many different ensembles over the years and have broad experience with different types of musicians. A rehearsal must be scheduled just prior to the ceremony or we can schedule a different time for an additional fee. For select pieces, we can provide musicians from our network of ensembles and colleagues.

Within our quartet, individual quartet members may be able to change instruments or accompany select pieces. Please feel free to ask our manager/violist Carla.

Yes, please speak with Carla, our manager/violist, so she can clear the request before a contract is signed. If the music is not already in our library, but is available for string instruments, there will be an additional fee for obtaining the music. We are also able to arrange special music adapted to string quartets for an additional fee.

While an outdoor wedding or event can be beautiful, we do ask for a covered space in the case of inclement weather. Instruments must be protected from sun, heat, moisture, hot and cold temperatures. Please let our manager Carla know in advance if the event is outdoors. 

Our quartet needs four (4) comfortable chairs without arms when playing, (three (3) chairs if trio, etc.). We provide our own music stands and music.

We ask you to provide food if the musicians play at your event for more than three (3) hours or if a long distance is traveled. 

We accept Venmo*, Zelle*, check, or cash.

Tips are appreciated, particularly if you would like to acknowledge the musicians' contributions to the ambience of the event. Gratuity is not included in your agreement.
