Q: Can you give us more information on wedding performances?
A: Weddings are considered to be one hour events with soft, prelude music beginning prior to the wedding, and recessional music as guests are departing. We are happy to also play music during the wedding ceremony, as well. If the ceremony will be longer than one hour, we usually shorten our prelude and postlude music. If the ceremony is longer than an hour, additional fees may apply.
Q: What if my wedding starts late?
A: It is completely understandable if a wedding is running a little late. We are happy to continue playing the prelude music up to an additional 10 minutes after the original start time which has generally been the amount of time needed to get back on schedule.
If we happen to have an additional event scheduled later that day, we cannot stay longer than the time agreed upon and written in our contract due to our obligation to other clients. We will let you and/or your wedding coordinator know of our obligation before your event.
Q: Does your quartet also play at the reception?
A: Yes, we can certainly play at the reception either immediately after an event as well as another location.
Q: Does your quartet also come to rehearsals?
A: Yes, We are more than happy to attend rehearsals. Additional fees will apply for the extra time incurred.
Q: How can we secure your quartet to perform for our event?
A: A non-refundable deposit of $100 will hold the quartet for your event. Full payment is due two (2) weeks prior to event. Please fill out the "Contact Us" form on this Web page and Carla will contact you as soon as possible.
Q: What is the difference between a string quartet and a trio?
A STRING QUARTET (2 violins, 1 viola, 1 cello) has a warm, rich sound loved & requested by many. A STRING TRIO (1 violin, 1 viola, 1 cello) has a light, more transparent sound, perfect for lighter occasions. Also, music repertoire for a quartet generally is much more extensive & available than for a trio.
Q: Do you have any suggestions for music?
A. We would be more than happy to suggest music for your event. Many of our clients begin by taking a look at our list of music on our "Music" page. From here, we are more than happy to give you some possibilities and suggestions to help you create your ideal wedding or event.
Q: Can your musicians perform with, or accompany, other musicians such as a pianist or singer?
A. Yes. We have performed with many different ensembles over the years and have a broad experience with different types of musicians. A rehearsal can be scheduled just prior to the ceremony or we can schedule a different time for an additional fee.
Q: Can your quartet perform non-standard repertoire or unusual arrangements?
A: Yes. Please speak with our music coordinator so she can clear the request before a contract is signed. If the music is not in our library but is available for string instruments, there will be an additional fee for obtaining the music.
Q: Does your group perform outside?
A: While an outdoor wedding or event can be very beautiful, we do ask for an alternative venue in the case of inclement weather. Instruments must be protected from sun, heat, moisture, hot and cold temperatures.
Q: What equipment does your group need during your service?
A. Our quartet needs 4 comfortable chairs without arms when playing. We provide our own music stands and music.
Q: Do we need to provide food for the musicians?
A: We ask you to provide food if the musicians play at your event for four hours or more or if a long distance is traveled.
Q: Do we need to tip the musicians?
A: Feel free to tip the musicians if you so choose.
